Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Recipe Hub is an app by Graphic Diversity, a company registered in Hong Kong ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Recipe Hub app and recipehub.io, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We follow the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and, for people in the European Economic Area and the UK, the GDPR.
Questions or requests: privacy@recipehub.io.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and photo they share with us. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email.
- Profile: the name, username, bio and photo you choose.
- Your content: recipes you import, write or edit; photos you add; posts, captions, likes, follows, reports and blocks.
- Imports: the links you paste, the text we read from those public posts or pages, and cookbook photos you upload for reading.
- Settings: app language, units and time zone (used to reset your daily free imports at your midnight).
- Technical data: basic logs our providers keep to run and secure the service (for example IP address, device type and app version, and error messages).
We do not collect your contacts, precise location or browsing history, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To provide the app: your account, saving and syncing recipes, importing and translating them, and the community feed. (Legal basis under the GDPR: performing our contract with you.)
- To keep Recipe Hub safe: preventing abuse, enforcing limits and acting on reports. (Legitimate interests.)
- To answer you when you contact support. (Legitimate interests.)
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
AI processing
When you import or translate a recipe, the text of the post or page, or your photo, is sent to our AI provider to produce the recipe. The AI provider processes it on our behalf to return the result to us. AI output can be wrong: please check ingredients, allergens, amounts and cooking temperatures.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process data on our instructions:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, file storage and server functions | Singapore |
| Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio) | AI that reads imports and translates recipes | Singapore |
| YouTube Data API (reading public video descriptions) and Sign in with Google | Global | |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, app distribution | Global |
| Expo | Building and updating the app | United States |
| Vercel and Cloudflare | Hosting this website, domain and email forwarding | Global |
We will update this list before adding a new provider (for example an email sender or subscription service). We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
What others can see
Your recipes are private unless you share them. If you post a recipe to the feed, anyone using Recipe Hub can see it, your profile name, username, photo and bio, and save a copy. If you share a link to a recipe, anyone with the link can open it on recipehub.io. Blocking someone hides your posts from each other.
How long we keep it
- Your account and content: until you delete them or your account.
- Text read from public posts during imports: up to 30 days, so the same post is not processed twice.
- Reports about content: kept for safety review, without your identity once your account is deleted.
- Provider logs and backups: for the limited time those providers keep them.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, recipes, photos, posts, likes and follows. See Delete your account for other options.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, and (in the EEA/UK) to object to or restrict processing and to receive a copy of your data. Most changes you can make yourself in the app. For anything else, email privacy@recipehub.io; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong or your local data protection authority.
Where data is stored
Our database and AI processing are in Singapore. Some providers process data in other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Recipe Hub is not meant for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
